maihiro carries out global CRM implementation at iwis

– iwis, the leading manufacturer of precision chains, relies on the CRM consulting specialist maihiro for the implementation of its global CRM system.

The iwis Group, active primarily in the automotive industry as well as machinery and plant engineering with its round 1,000 employees at 16 locations worldwide, generates turnover of more than 250 million euro. Long-term client relationships are an integral part of the company policy for the fourth generation family-run enterprise based in Munich. In order to expand its sales activities, iwis sets out to orientate its organisation even more towards the customer and support it with a worldwide CRM system based on SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM).

Peter Walkenhorst, IT manager at iwis: "The CRM system to be implemented by maihiro will initially support 25 staff members in the fast-growing pilot country USA with a structured sales management.“


With 'CRM to Go', the industry-specific prototype supported project approach, maihiro will introduce a best practice process model tailored to the client-specific sales processes by means of a gap analysis. The maihiro consultants want to complete the implementation of the global template and the US prototype after only four or five months, by the end of August 2011. The CRM solution will go live in the USA parallel to the deployment of the new SAP ERP system. The worldwide CRM roll out will be continued in Germany after completion in the USA.

Thanks to a central database the new CRM solution ensures a 360 degree view of current clients and potential customers. In the future, the iwis sales staff will be able to administrate activities and potential sales, all information - including customer data sheets and visit reports - will be available to them offline as well. A further component of the SAP CRM solution is a groupware integration with Microsoft Exchange 2007 for contacts, employee calendars and e-mails. In the mid-term the creation of offers including price calculation shall be displayed in the CRM system.
